First Robot-assisted Bariatric Surgery in Jamaica

Dr Alfred Dawes performed a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy last week using a Vista cobot at the Windsor Wellness Center.

“Happy to have been given the opportunity to perform the first robotic assisted bariatric procedure in Jamaica. The robot arm operated the camera an I used my head movements and foot to control its movements.”

Freehand is ideal for bariatric procedures by design, the height of the robotic arm can be quickly adjusted, and its slim profile and 3 joint design allows for easy and fast positioning for all types of patient and surgeries.
